Watson reports back to Holmes about events on the moor

  • Chapter 7: Watson meets (Jack) Stapleton on the moor. Stapleton lives near Baskerville Hall with his ‘dear sister’ Miss (Beryl)Stapleton. Watson learns about the danger of the ‘mire’ (quicksand bog), hears a strange hound-like sound and receives a secret warning from Miss Stapleton
  • Chapter 8: Strange things are happening in Baskerville Hall at night. Mrs Barrymore crying. Mr. Barrymore acting suspiciously with a candle at a window.
  • Chapter 9: An explanation for the Barrymore behaviour but more tension involving the Stapleton siblings. Watson & Sir Henry go onto the moor at night in search of Seldon.
